26' CRUISETTE-LYMAN’S BEST EFFORT

One of the most popular Lyman boats ever built was the 26' Cruisette model. Starting production in 1967, the Lyman Boat Works built the 26's as an updating of their 25 footers. As the hulls were sealed with 3M 5200, these boats have fewer problems with planks swelling tight to seal, and take on little or no water while under way. With the advent of these boats came a major improvement in power with newer engines available, such as Chrysler, Chevy, and Ford..

The Cruisette model, with its dinette, sink, and refrigerator, coupled with the fact that it is a single screw, makes it very popular because it is economical and will accommodate two people or a small family comfortably for a weekend cruise. Production ran from 1967 through 1973, and there are still plenty of these boats available at many different prices and conditions. They are holding their value extremely well, and in most cases they are worth the money it takes to restore them to like new or better condition
